Inspiration

As someone who has worked with globally distributed teams, I’ve experienced firsthand how painful and inefficient international payroll can be, late payments, huge transaction fees, manual conversions, and lack of transparency. I wanted to build something better: a system that automates all of it using AI and executes payments on-chain with speed and trust. That idea became Algopay.

What it does

Algopay is an AI-powered global payroll solution built on the Algorand blockchain, enabling instant international salary payments with ultra-low fees, automated token swaps, and enterprise-grade security. Designed for the remote-first era, Algopay simplifies and automates cross-border payroll with AI intelligence and blockchain reliability.

How I built it

Bolt.new: Orchestrated the full AI workflow, including salary parsing, net pay calculation, currency conversion, and transaction instruction generation.

Gemini AI: Powered the conversational experience with both the company and blockchain logic, offering real-time reasoning on token swaps, salary computation, and compliance audits.

Supabase: Used to securely store user inputs, uploaded files (like CSVs), transaction logs, and structured AI outputs.

Pera Wallet: Integrated for managing ALGO payments and wallet interactions, simulating real on-chain transactions with near-zero latency.

CSV Upload System: Enabled users to upload a list of employees, which the AI parses to automatically compute payouts and generate batched payment instructions. What's next for Algopay

Move from Algorand testnet to mainnet after completing additional testing and security reviews.
Add real-time token pricing to improve swap accuracy and optimize payment scheduling.
Expand the compliance engine to support more countries' tax rules and reporting formats.
Build an admin dashboard for HR teams to upload CSVs, view payroll history, and export reports.
Add error-checking for uploaded employee files and AI-driven suggestions to correct incomplete or malformed entries.
