Inspiration

We were inspired by the idea of making algorithmic logic and AI agents more approachable, interactive, and game-like. Tools like Replit's Ghostwriter and Auto-GPT showed the power of agents, but there was no easy way to play with them, test their logic in fun challenges, or build your own without deep ML knowledge. That gap birthed algoAgent, an arcade-style platform for deploying, testing, and iterating AI agents with specific goals.

What it does

• algoAgent is a gamified agent playground. It allows users to: • Choose from preset algorithmic challenges (e.g., sorting, searching, pathfinding, or logic puzzles). • Deploy their own simple or complex AI agents. • Watch them compete or complete tasks in real-time. • View analytics on performance (speed, accuracy, resource usage). • Share agent links publicly for others to try or remix. • It's designed for devs and learners who want to build agents, not just chat with them.

How we built it

We built Algo Agent with a modern stack combining no-code and custom solutions. The frontend uses React, TypeScript, and Tailwind for an intuitive no-code builder. We integrated top AI models (Google Gemini, OpenAI, Claude) and connected them with smart contracts on the Algorand blockchain using PyTeal for secure agent deployment and tokenization. We used Bolt to accelerate backend workflows and APIs, and wrote custom code to handle unique agent logic, token generation, and decentralized storage with IPFS. This makes it easy for anyone to create, own, and trade AI agents without needing deep technical skills.

Challenges we ran into

• Sandboxing code safely: Letting users upload or edit agent logic required a safe, isolated execution environment to avoid abuse. • Real-time battle logic: Making agents compete in real-time with visible progress required careful sync using WebSockets. • Balancing UX and dev flexibility: We wanted users to edit agent logic, but not overwhelm them with setup or coding.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Created a full working MVP where users can actually build and test agents in a game environment. • Designed a smooth UI for watching agent logic play out step by step. • Deployed a flexible challenge format system that lets us easily add new arcade-style tasks.

What we learned

• Making agents fun and accessible is harder than it sounds, too abstract and it’s confusing, too technical and it’s intimidating. • Real-time feedback is crucial, users enjoyed seeing their agent “fail fast” so they could improve it. • Gamification helps developers learn algorithms better when they see them visually in action.

What's next for Algo Agent - Decentralized AI Agent Launchpad

• Adding multiplayer agent battles: users can pit their agents against others and climb a leaderboard. • Expanding challenge types to include API tasks, AI prompt completion, and logic puzzles. • Improving the onboarding so non-developers can build rule-based agents with no code. • Publishing a Chrome extension that lets users bring their agents into websites as helpers.
