Inspiration
When I was around 5 or 6, my parents would help me practice with the basic opporations. They would print pages of those practice questions for me and because of it, I ended up having a much better number sense than I would have, as well being able to do mental math quicker.
What it does
My program generates a set of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division questions.
How we built it
A random value is chosen to determine the opporation, and two variables are assigned to two random values. The question and answer are put into arrays, and the process repeats. When a button is pressed the questions are generated, and when another is pressed, their answers are shown.
Challenges we ran into
Challenges include time, internet problems, and my lack of experience, mainly with linking HTML with javascript.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I didn't really have high hopes for the submission, but the fact that the program worked and is decent is something I'm proud of.
What we learned
I learned how to add buttons and textboxes, and how to retrieve the id of a value from a textbox.
What's next for Algebrator
I might add more options for what problems the program might generate using checkboxes for the four opporations.
