Friction Log — Private GitHub repository access
Task: Grant hackathon judges access to our private GitHub submission.
Steps: We followed the repository-sharing instructions and attempted to add @AmazonAppDev through GitHub's collaborator interface.
Expected: The named reviewer account would be available to invite.
Actual: AmazonAppDev is an organization, not an individual GitHub account, so it could not be added as a personal repository collaborator.
Severity: Important — inaccessible code could prevent evaluation.
Workaround: We consulted the organizer's published clarification and invited the six named Amazon reviewers and the Devpost testing account. Invitations were sent; acceptance was not yet confirmed.
Suggested improvement: Display the individual reviewer usernames directly beside the private repository URL field, including instructions about invitation acceptance and expiration.
Status: Submission published; reviewer access still requires acceptance of the pending invitations.
