Students in Assam and all over India struggle to stay consistent with studies. We wanted to make study more interactive using voice, not just screen time. Alexa can be a friendly study partner.
What it does
Alexa Study Buddy helps students:
- Set daily study reminders
- Ask quick Q&A for general knowledge
- Get motivational quotes when they feel low
- Track study streaks with voice
Just say "Alexa, open Study Buddy" and start learning!
How we built it
We built it using Amazon Alexa Skills Kit (ASK), Alexa Developer Console, and Node.js for backend logic. Used Amazon Q for debugging and improving intents.
Challenges we ran into
Learning about intents, utterances and slots for the first time was challenging. Also designing it for students so it stays simple and helpful.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Built our first ever Alexa skill that can actually help students in real life. Completed our first global hackathon project submission.
What we learned
Learned how Alexa Skills work, how voice UI is different from normal apps, and how to submit on Devpost.
What's next for Alexa Study Buddy
We will add regional language support like Assamese and Hindi, add PYQ quiz mode, and connect with to-do lists.
