Inspiration I was going through the news paper where i saw headline about Artemis 2. I thought to myself, how can they go through lots of information and data at the same time, how do they make decisions in critical situations so i built this.

What it does

I have always been fascinated by space, but most space-related information is presented through complex dashboards, numbers, and technical data. For this hackathon, I wanted to build something that could make that information more interactive and easier to understand. That idea became Alexa+ Space Mission Control, an AI-powered mission-control interface designed to help users monitor a fictional space mission, understand telemetry, and interact with mission information through natural language.

How we built it

I built the project as a web-based mission-control dashboard using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with an AI backend to handle natural-language interaction. The interface includes mission information, spacecraft status, telemetry, visual mission data, and an AI assistant that acts as a mission-control copilot. I focused on making the interface feel like an actual futuristic control center rather than just another chatbot on a webpage.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was getting all the pieces to work together. I faced issues with the frontend design, missing visuals, JavaScript errors, API connections, and AI model integration. There were several moments where something that looked like a tiny change completely broke another part of the project. Debugging those problems taught me to test each component separately, understand the error instead of blindly changing code, and keep improving the project step by step.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

It was my first real experience of taking an idea from “this would be cool” to an actual working application. Alexa+ Space Mission Control is my attempt to imagine how AI could make space missions more accessible, interactive, and intuitive for the people operating them and the people trying to understand them.

What we learned

I learned much more than I expected. I worked with frontend development, JavaScript, APIs, AI integration, GitHub, debugging, and connecting different parts of a project together. I also learned that making something look simple for the user can require a surprising amount of work behind the scenes for me working with CSS, java script, integrating AI model, plus working on UI-UX was challenging and thats were i learnt many things

What's next for Alexa+Space mission control

I have decided to change the AI model, cuase thats not working properly, in future i will integrate my own LLM
