Inspiration
Not sure if your kid likes music? Don't know where to start? This Sing Along skill is here to discover your kid's musical talents and give them a little brainstorm. It is a musical game skill designed for kids with or without prior musical training.
What it does
It plays a rhythm and your job is to repeat it using sol-fa names, which are Do, Re, Mi, Fa, So, La, Ti. The difficulty of the game adjusts according to your performance. In other words, if you answer correctly, the rhythm will get longer. Otherwise, the rhythm will become simpler so that you won't be frustrated.
How I built it
The skill runs on Amazon Lambda. It randomly generates a rhythm of an appropriate length and fetches the corresponding audio files from Amazon S3.
Challenges I ran into
The limit of <audio> tags in SSML is rather small. This limits the maximum length of the rhythm.
