Inspiration
Conversational agents and intelligent toys are present in children’s homes and influence their development. This raises the question of how families should interact with these intelligent agents and what role should they play in the interaction. Parents want to learn how to expose their children to programming and computational think- ing but don’t know where to start. In order to address this need, we have designed a platform where children can program and customize an embodied intelligent agent together with their family. The agent plays an active role in facilitating the learning process in a playful and personalized way and determines how best to support collaborative learning during various programming activities in the home.
