What is Alexa Club?

"Alexa club" is a first voice controlled hotel room assistant built using Amazon Echo . She can do tasks that usually required you to call reception like ordering taxi, food, check out or room service. It allows you not to stand up from the couch to use frequently used commands like set "do not disturb" or set an alarm clock. All with voice control.

What is Amazon Echo?

Amazon Echo is a new category of device designed around your voice – it is hands-free and always on. Ask Echo for information, music, news, and weather from across the room and get answers instantly. Under Echo's light ring is an array of seven microphones. When Echo detects the wake word, it lights up and streams audio requests to the cloud, where it uses Amazon Web Services to recognize and respond. And because Echo’s brain is in the cloud, it continually learns and adds functionality over time.

What it does

You can activate it using "Alexa, open app" command, and she can do room services for you. E.g., "Alexa, open app." "Hello! Welcome to XYZ hotel." "I'd like to get a cab." Alexa knows where you live. She sends an email with your room number and desired destination to the reception.

Or, "Set do not disturb mode on" And she will change light indicator above your room door to red color.

"Room service" And she will change light indicator above your room door to green color and send a text message to room service to clean your room.
