Alexa & Dragons

Inspiration

We were inspired by the legendary role-playing game of Dungeons & Dragons.

What it does

Alexa & Dragons allows users to play the game, even without another player. Alexa acts as the game dungeon master.

How we built it

• Trial and error
• Massive amounts of selection, structures, and comparators

Challenges we ran into

Alexa periodically fails to respond to keywords or gets bugged by certain comments in the code.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Building a storytelling skill for a Voice User Interface
• Maximizing user experience in an RPG environment using only voice
• Inputting a natural and conversational language into agent

What we learned

• Many different aspects of user experience in VUI games
• How to use the Alexa Skill Kit and create skills for Alexa
• To navigate with voice
