Inspiration

Hello Everyone. This is my first ever hackathon and my first ever project that I created in an hackathon.

My hack's name is Alex and it is a Zoom Bot. I actually got the inspiration from all the teaches around the world who started teaching in the online format.

I feel that whatever the teachers are doing, is very hard, and I felt that technology could solve this by totally automating what teachers do.

What it does

My Bot, Alex, just helps teachers by starting the meeting by whatever time you give it. That's it.

I will also be providing the GitHub repo link down below, so go check that out. In the near future, I will be adding more functionalities to it, which will make it a better helper of the teachers during the pandemic we all are facing right now.

You can also visit my YouTube Video for a real demo. You can also visit my GitHub Repo for my code and some extra information.

How we built it

I built it entirely using Python and some GUI libraries like PySimpleGUI and PyAutoGUI. It's main use is for Zoom right now, but we might release it for other services as well like Google Meet, Skype, etc.

Challenges we ran into

There were some challenges that I ran into while making this bot. One was that the layouts and GUI elements were very confusing to understand and I was always getting errors (Index Errors) constantly, every time.

I would not say it was very hard, but it was not easy also.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of my bot itself and I want to update it constantly in the future, so that teachers get a better teaching experience.

What we learned

I learned a lot of new things in this hackathon.

Some things that I learned was GUI in Python, PySimpleGUI, PyAutoGUI, how Windows processes work at a deep level, and many more.

What's next for Alex

As I told previously, I will be updating Alex a lot in the near future, so stay tuned on my GitHub link that I have posted below.

I will be adding more functions to Alex. If I do this, then, teachers can do less work and concentrate only on teaching.

Other that functionality, I will be releasing Alex not only for Zoom, but for other popular services as well like Google Meet, WebEx, Microsoft Skype, and many more.

I hope you liked Alex. Thank You
