Inspiration

Over 466 million people worldwide are deaf or hard of hearing and many cant hear life-saving sound like fire alarms, sirens, or even glass breaking i built alertify to bridge that gap. inspired my real stories and accessibility needs , i wanted to create an app that brings emergency awareness to everyone without needing expensive hardware .

What it does

Alertify is a ai powered emergency sound detection app built specially for the deaf and hard of hearing community It listens to real-time audio using the device’s microphone and identifies eight life-saving sounds such as: Fire and smoke alarms Car horns Smoke detector chirps Glass breaking Security and door alarms Emergency sirens Once a sound is detected, Alertify instantly notifies the user through: Flashing visual alerts Urgent vibration feedback Color-coded danger indicators

It also offers: Offline processing (no internet required for detection) AI-based adaptive sound filtering Cloud sync and user authentication via Supabase Custom sensitivity settings for different environments

How we built it

Alertify was built on bolt , using reactive native with sxpo sdk 52 and typescript for cross platform mobile development we integrated supabase for secure authentication, real time database syncing, and cloud storage doe user data
