Inspiration
Noting the rise in crimes, it is hard for local authorities to keep track of all crimes. Elert is for the neighbourhood to watch out for each other and let the authorities handle more pressing matters. It also serves as a tool for local authorities to dispatch to if there is a big incident reported by the local neighbourhood.
What it does
Users can report incident that they see anonymously. Doing so Elert will display the incident in a map made by using google maps. Other users can see and respond accordingly to the information report as reported by the witness.
How we built it
We used react.js as our front-end and firebase for our back-end.
Challenges we ran into
Learning react and firebase within a short time-frame and generating the idea.

What's next for Elert
Heatmaps to detect frequency of reports in a specific area so that once it reaches a threshold, local authorities are informed to dispatch.
