Inspiration We solved real Bishkek problems: dirty ATMs, freezing winters making touchscreens hard to use, and kids losing lunch money cards. We asked: what never runs out of battery and is always with you? Your hand.
What it does Alaqan Pay is a biometric ecosystem.
Palm Payment: Pay simply by waving your hand (no phone/card needed).
AirTouch: Control ATMs and terminals with mid-air gestures, keeping hands clean and warm.
How we built it The spark came instantly—we conceptualized the idea in just 10 minutes and built the core prototype in half an hour. While we still have work to do on robust security layers and protection, the foundation is set. Our vision is to make payments not just easier, but inspiringly simple and seamless. We believe the future of fintech should feel like magic. This is just the beginning! Tech stack: Python, MediaPipe, OpenCV.
Challenges we ran into Stabilizing the cursor. Human hands naturally shake, making it hard to click small buttons. We had to write a smoothing algorithm to make the gesture control fluid and precise.
Accomplishments that we're proud of We went from zero code to a working "Iron Man" style interface in under an hour. We proved that banking can be touchless and device-free.
What we learned Computer Vision is accessible enough to solve daily problems on a standard laptop. We also learned that invisible interfaces need strong visual feedback to be user-friendly.
What's next for Alaqan Pay Security first. We plan to implement Infrared (IR) Palm Vein scanning and Liveness Detection to ensure the system is unhackable and safer than FaceID.
