Inspiration
Our inspiration is deeply personal and based one our professional experiences.
For our team member Lyvia, who has a hearing disability, the impact of inaccessible digital tools is a daily lived experience. This reinforced our commitment to ensuring everyone has equitable access to the digital world. Divyanka, a former Amazon PM with experience solving accessibility challenges and founding a startup focused on neurodiversity, recognized the massive, systemic failure in the industry.
We realised that companies often focus on the largest customer base not prioritising accessibility features, and the rise of AI code accelerates the creation of inaccessible websites. We built Aksu to automate the solution, making accessibility the default, not an afterthought.
What it does
Aksu is the Accessibility Guardrail - a specialized agent that detects and instantly auto-fixes critical accessibility flaws in the developer's IDE, before the code is ever committed.
Core Functionality: Real-Time Flaw Detection: Scans for high-impact WCAG failures, such as missing alt attributes. AI Remediation: Analyzes code context and generates accurate, descriptive alt text, fixing the code with a single click. Compliance Assurance: Helps companies avoid massive financial risk by ensuring compliance with strict mandates like the EU Accessibility Act and mitigating US lawsuit exposure.
