Inspiration
Akhdar BI Command Center is a reporting prototype for understanding a small perfume business through a repeatable data pipeline: orders, product costs, customer activity, and marketing measures.
What it does
The repository models CSV inputs through raw, staging, warehouse, and reporting layers. Dimensions describe dates, products, customers, channels, shipping methods, and materials; fact tables represent orders, line items, cost estimates, and marketing inputs. SQL reporting views define measures such as net sales, average order value, refunds, and estimated margins.
How it is built
The stack combines Python, pandas, SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL, Docker Compose, and Power BI-oriented exports. The repository includes sample/reference data, schema definitions, ETL modules, KPI documentation, data-quality checks, and an executive dashboard image.
My role
This is a personal portfolio prototype in my GitHub repository. It demonstrates work across data modeling, ETL organization, SQL metrics, documentation, and dashboard presentation.
Engineering focus
The project puts metric definitions close to the data model so that a dashboard can be traced back to its calculation. It also distinguishes estimated costs from complete costs: missing ingredient prices must remain visible before treating a margin calculation as definitive.
Gallery and status
The gallery uses the original executive dashboard image from the public repository. Its figures represent a historical example snapshot, not current business performance. This entry presents a BI prototype; the full warehouse, every planned dashboard page, and README test totals have not been independently revalidated here.
What I learned and next steps
Useful follow-up work includes reconciling order and line totals, validating sample-data runs, documenting missing-cost behavior, and completing the planned profitability, customer, and marketing views.
