Our project answers the problem statement as it uses a linear regression model to predict and forecast future demand of goods in Singapore more accurately such that we minimise food wastage by avoiding importing excessive quantities. It also helps to optimise logistics by finding the shortest route from importers to retailers using the Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem such that the transportation process is streamlined and made more convenient. This is also incorporated with another algorithm to manage current inventory and decide when is the optimal time to import more goods in order to restock current inventory. The amount restocked in each store will also be determined by whether the store has a surplus or deficit of goods such that we reduce wastage of excessive goods.
