Inspiration

AKCCC was built as a personal wellness operating system for the iPhone, with the goal of turning health data into practical guidance instead of passive charts. The idea was to combine Apple Health, calendar awareness, reminders, and an AI coach into one experience that feels useful day to day.

What it does

AKTZ tracks live health and workout signals, generates readiness and recovery insights, and lets the AI Coach respond to user questions with context from HealthKit. It can also create real Apple Reminders and Calendar events from natural-language requests, and it also automatically speaks back to the user as a workout coach during sessions so the user gets feedback while training, on the spot. It also has the ability to create diets and track global and session progress and suggest schedules, diets, and set reminders and events automatically for the user's benefit.

How we built it

We built AKTZ in SwiftUI with HealthKit, EventKit, UserNotifications, and background task support. The app layers a structured AI chat system on top of user profile and biometric context, so the AI system can reason about what the user asked and act on it. For automation, we added a parser and action manager that turns AI Coach requests into actual reminders or calendar events. We also added a photo image for food analysis on the spot if ever necessary.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was making the AI act on intent reliably instead of just replying with text. We also had to deal with HealthKit permissions, missing or empty sample windows, and the difference between data that is truly unavailable and data that is just not visible yet. Another challenge was keeping the workout experience responsive enough to give useful suggestions in real time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud that AKTZ now connects conversational AI to real system actions like reminders and calendar events. We also built a live workout feedback loop that adapts to heart rate, calories, readiness, and session phase, so the app can coach the user dynamically. Another win is the structured, context-aware health flow that keeps the app grounded in real user data.

What we learned

We learned that AI features become much more useful when they are constrained by actual app context and can take actions, not just generate answers.

What's next for AKCCC

Next, we want to make the AI Coach even more context-aware, with better natural-language parsing and follow-up questions when details are missing. We also want to improve workout coaching so suggestions are tailored more specifically to the workout type and current performance. Longer term, AKTZ can grow into a more complete wellness companion with richer automation, smarter recovery guidance, and deeper personalization.
