Tarmac

Inspiration

Our 4th teammate has been overseas, and has consistently complained to us about the terribly inconvenient airport experience. To combat this, we wanted to make an app that streamlines the airport experience.

What it does

This applet allows users to :

1. Simplify their boarding experience and speed it up potentially by a factor of 6.
2. Access and share all their airport/flight information easily.
3. Connect users to the flight agencies/airlines frictionlessly.
4. Inform passengers instantly regarding gate changes and other amendments.

How I built it

We designed our user interfaces on Figma, and tried to build a mockup of the applet on Thunkable.

Challenges I ran into

1. Making a beautiful UI.
2. Connecting the app to the databases.
3. The race against the clock (24hrs is a huge crunch for a project of this size).

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

1. Working effectively as a team.
2. Managing to integrate the database with the app.
3. Designing a good logo and name.

What I learned

1. How to use databases.
2. How to effectively build multi page apps.

What's next for Tarmac

We will try to further develop this project in our free time in Junior College, and may integrate more features to further streamline the airport experience.
