Inspiration
We were inspired by our own personal experiences with walking into a retail store and having to traverse the same aisle multiple times because we did not know where something is. Along with the fact, we have group members with their own working experiences in retail that would like to ease the friction caused between customers and items.
What it does
Our project scans a qr-code on our website using python and following a linked database we search for the proper location of the item scanned.
How we built it
As far as the html it was more straight forward in terms of styling and designing, but the back-end saw more issues with trying to use
Challenges we ran into
The biggest issue was lack of experience in cv2, the python library to access the camera. That along with, not knowing how to read the output of the qr-code and passing it to another html page to display a list.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we have a working product and we have a lot more experience with flask apps and cv2
What we learned
How important git is and trying to keep merge conflicts from happening
What's next for Aisle Find My Way
