The Inspiration Behind AiScribe

As a freelancer, I often needed a reliable tool to transcribe my longer meetings and interviews. While there were existing solutions, they were either too expensive or lacked essential features. This frustration led me to create AiScribe—a tool that not only meets my needs but is also affordable and packed with the features I always wished for. With reasonable pricing, AiScribe bridges the gap between high-cost tools and those with limited functionality, making transcription accessible to everyone.

What it does

AiScribe transcribes audio and video content, with additional features like translation, summaries, and action points. It's tailored for users who need efficient transcription services for meetings, lectures, interviews, and more.

How we built it

As a solo developer, I handled everything from logo design, research, development, to the overall design of the app. I built AiScribe with the goal of competing with existing applications while keeping subscription prices reasonable.

Challenges we ran into

One major challenge was creating a product that could stand out in a competitive market. After the initial launch, trials were low, so I introduced a 3-day free trial. This helped bring in trials, but unfortunately, the conversion rate was still low. To address this, I added premium features, which helped increase the conversion rate.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud of creating a functional, competitive product as a solo developer. By adding new premium features, I was able to boost the conversion rate and make AiScribe more appealing to users.

What we learned

Offering free trials and refining premium features can help improve user adoption and conversion rates. Continuous iteration and improvement are key to maintaining and growing the user base.

What's next for AiScribe - Transcribe Audios & Videos

Next, I plan to focus on perfecting the existing features to stabilize my Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR). Once that’s achieved, I’ll move on to adding new features like live transcription.
