Inspiration

During a pandemic like this, we are required to always comply with health protocols due to Covid-19. We are required to always wear a mask and carry a hand sanitizer, also not forget to always wash our hands and keep our distance. As a result of this pandemic, there are a lot of offline activities that can no longer be done or maybe the way to do it is different than usual. One of the activities that is usually carried out is offline lectures which require students to come directly to the campus to carry out learning activities, due to Covid-19 in Indonesia teaching and learning activities are carried out online or commonly called "WFH". Indonesia itself still has many cases of people affected by Covid-19, therefore the awareness to wear masks and wash your hands frequently is not implemented properly.

What it does

Therefore, we thought of creating an application to help improve public awareness in Indonesia, especially to always wear a mask, the application we created is "Airlangga Mask Detection " (GAMATECT) which is an A.I-based application. which we devote to campus. This application is useful for detecting campus people who do not wear masks while in the campus area, this application will sound a bell when a campus community passes our application. This application is made like CCTV by connecting a camera with our computer system. It is hoped that with this application, education in Indonesia can return to normal by implementing good health rules with the help of our application.

How we built it

-build with python also use tensorflow and opencv,

Challenges we ran into

our biggest problem is hardware like gpu for processing image processing

Accomplishments that we're proud of

we made it together overnight an extraordinary experience for us students

What we learned

we wanted to update the image processing algorithm to make it lighter

What's next for Airlangga Mask Detection (GAMATECT)

we will be paired with Nvidia jetson to be installed on our campus
