Inspiration
Our main inspiration for this project came from the amount of pollution that our team sees on a daily basis within our own city of Charlotte, NC. We believe that air pollution is a huge issue that many humans are not as aware of as they should be.
What it does
Our game is a role-playing simulation where the player will go through multiple scenarios that require the player to make a decision on what they think is the best action for the specific scenario. For instance, the player could be given three options on how to get to work; take a bike, catch the bus, or drive. In this game, the best answer would be to take a bike because that produces the least amount of pollution!
How we built it
We built our game through Scratch. Before creating the game when did wire framing and brainstorming to organize our many ideas!
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge that we ran into was not being able to all collaborate through Scratch. As a result, we had a time crunch for completing the game, but ultimately got through it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
An accomplishment that we are proud of is the fact that we not only built our game from Scratch (no remixing), but also chose an interesting type of game that not many people have attempted to do!
What we learned
One of the main things we learned was how to effectively manage our time and collaborate. By learning this, we were able to lower our levels of stress and have more fun with the project.
What's next for Air To Spare
The next steps for Air To Spare are to continue adding to our games! As a team, we had many ideas that we would love to eventually bring to life! Outside of that, Air To Spare will continue to promote awareness on our air pollution issue!
