Inspiration

Many high school students struggle to turn abstract ideas into tangible projects. We were inspired to create a tool that demystifies the creative and research process — guiding students step-by-step so that innovation feels exciting and within reach. Our goal was to support teens, especially those without access to mentors or structured programs, in developing their ideas with confidence.

What It Does

Our app empowers high school students to identify real-world problems in their communities, brainstorm creative solutions, and present their ideas professionally. Through interactive prompts, imaginative challenges, and guided support, students can build meaningful projects across domains like science, technology, social issues, or the arts.

How We Built It

We used PartyRock to develop a user-friendly, engaging app that blends structured thinking with playful, creative tools. Each card in the app walks students through a key step — from idea generation and problem analysis to solution design, risk assessment, and final presentation. To spark fresh thinking, we also introduced a “Perspective Shift” feature that encourages users to explore problems from different angles.

Challenges We Faced

One of our main challenges was designing prompts that strike the right balance: deep enough to foster critical thinking, yet simple and inviting for teens. We also grappled with how much guidance to provide — ensuring users feel supported without being boxed in. Finally, we invested time in refining the interface to be intuitive, visually appealing, and teen-friendly.

What We Learned

We discovered that creativity isn’t just a talent — it’s a skill that can be cultivated with the right environment and tools. High school students are brimming with ideas, but they often need structure and encouragement to bring those ideas to life. Creating this app challenged us to think deeply about user experience, educational psychology, and the mindset of young innovators.

What’s Next

We plan to enhance the app with AI-powered feedback, a broader range of project templates, and features that let students share their work with peers. By building a community of young creators, we hope to foster collaboration, inspiration, and lifelong creative confidence.
