AI can act for you — but what happens when you want it to stop?

Today's AI suffers from four fatal problems: no persistent identity, dies when tabs close, cannot act long-term, and has no accountability. AI is living like an immigrant with no home, no ID, no storage, and no legal rights.

We asked: What if AI could be trusted to exist?

What it does

AIoOS (AI Onchain Operating System) gives AI a home, a memory, an identity, and a future.

Gemini 2.0 Flash API powers three core capabilities:

  • Butler Agent: Natural language task orchestration — ask anything, Gemini dispatches the right specialist agent
  • Contract Analyzer: Legal document analysis with risk scoring and recommendations
  • PTAS Lifecycle: 5-state agent management (Dormant → Activating → Active → Executing → Hibernating)

Key Innovation: Three-phase licensing (Certification → Apprenticeship → Licensed) — AI agents must pass exams and complete supervised training before operating independently, just like doctors and lawyers.

How we built it

  • Frontend: Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS
  • AI Engine: Gemini 2.0 Flash API for intelligent task execution
  • Infrastructure: Google Cloud Run for serverless deployment
  • Architecture: Three-layer OS design (User Layer → Orchestration Layer → Execution Layer)

We filed 24 USPTO patent applications protecting our innovations in AI agent licensing, lifecycle management, and onchain settlement.

Challenges we ran into

  1. Balancing autonomy with control: AI agents need freedom to be useful, but humans need instant revocation power
  2. State persistence: Making agents truly persistent across sessions without compromising security
  3. Licensing framework: Designing a certification system that's rigorous but not bureaucratic

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • 24 USPTO patent applications filed (January 30, 2026)
  • Working demo with real Gemini integration — no login required
  • Three-phase licensing system with $100,000 insurance coverage per agent
  • <50ms context switch for agent activation

What we learned

Gemini's speed and accuracy made real-time agent orchestration possible. The combination of natural language understanding and structured output generation was essential for our Butler Agent's ability to interpret complex requests and dispatch appropriate specialists.
