CIVICA: ScrollSignal

✅ Inspiration We were inspired by the idea that voice, ritual, and AI could empower even the most underserved communities to govern with wisdom, without needing screens or literacy.

✅ What it does CIVICA: ScrollSignal turns voice inputs and local data into scroll-based civic rituals using AWS generative AI, enabling real-time decisions in healthcare, education, and sustainability.

✅ How we built it We combined Amazon Bedrock for generative scroll creation, SageMaker for localized predictions, Amazon Q for natural language guidance, and 5G/IoT for edge simulation and real-world triggering.

✅ Challenges we ran into Designing a consent-based system without screen reliance, ensuring cultural neutrality in AI outputs, and integrating simulation logic in low-connectivity environments pushed us beyond conventional UX and engineering models.

✅ Accomplishments that we're proud of We created a fully functional prototype where a non-literate user can generate an actionable health scroll by voice, simulate its impact, and trigger real-world responses — all with sacred UX.

✅ What we learned We learned that when AI meets ritual and edge connectivity, it unlocks a new design frontier where ethics, ancestry, and automation can truly harmonize.

✅ What's next for CIVICA: ScrollSignal We’ll deploy ScrollSignal pilots in bioregional communities, scale multispecies data integration, and open-source the scroll protocol to build a global network of sacred civic AI.
