AIOmetre: Your Human Connection Companion by Eloisa Flores

The Mission

In a world of digital noise, AIOmetre acts as a counter-spell to loneliness. While most AI agents compete for your screen time, AIOmetre is designed to give it back to you. I built this tool to prove that AI shouldn't be a wall that isolates us, but a bridge that leads us back to each other.

How It Works

AIOmetre leverages Gemini 2.5 Flash as a "Creative Director," orchestrating a complex multimodal experience.

  • Assessment: It evaluates your social health through personality profiling and screen time analysis.
  • Narrative Orchestration: It pairs you with an iconic fictional duo and creates a personalized story using Imagen 4.0 Fast for real-time visuals and voice narration.
  • The Mission: It assigns real-world "human connection missions," using a gamified Golden Coin system to transform social reconnection into a magical adventure.

The Multimodal Experience

Every session is a living story. Gemini 2.5 Flash maintains full context to build a unique user profile, generating a personalized image + iconic quote — all narrated in real-time. Text, visuals, and audio flow together seamlessly, demonstrating that AI can facilitate deeply human and emotive experiences.

Technologies Used

  • Gemini 2.5 Flash — The reasoning engine and creative orchestrator
  • Imagen 4.0 Fast — High-fidelity, real-time personalized image generation
  • Google GenAI SDK — Seamless model integration
  • Google Cloud Run — Production-grade backend hosting
  • Flask & Python — Robust backend architecture
  • Web Speech API — Dynamic voice narration
  • Nano Banana — Original character illustrations

The Builder's Journey

I am an Independent AI Safety Researcher with no prior coding background. Just 14 days ago, I had never touched a line of Python. Today, we are delivering two functional products for Amazon and Google. This project is the living proof of "High Agency": that with the right intent and Google's powerful AI tools, we can turn a vision for a better world into a working reality.

Challenges & Learnings

The biggest challenge was orchestrating multimodal output to feel fluid and organic — not like a sequence of API calls, but like a living conversation. Gemini 2.5 Flash's extended context window was the game-changer: it maintained perfect memory across personality profiling, screen time data, emotional vibe checks, and pairing choices, never losing the narrative thread across dozens of interactions.

I also learned that the hardest engineering problems aren't always technical — sometimes they're human. How do you make an AI feel warm? How do you design a conversation that doesn't just inform, but moves people to act? AIOmetre taught me that the answer lives at the intersection of empathy and architecture.

The future of technology isn't just about what we can build — it's about why we build it, and who we build it for.
