Inspiration

Am a dentist at the Family Health Strategy in the city of Maceió in the State of Alagoas - Brazil. During my clinical consultations, I noticed that around 90% of our patients did not understand the basic concepts of Dentistry which would help in their treatments, especially pregnant women, where multiple changes occur in the oral cavity due to the hormonal changes that occur during this sensitive period. This condition makes the pregnant woman worried, as changes in her mucous membrane constantly appear, and she does not understand how she could resolve or at least minimize that situation. This is how the idea of ​​AIODONTO came about, offering basic principles of oral health literacy with the help of a chatbot with a Little Dental Dentist, which would help these pregnant women to minimize their doubts, especially during the early hours of the morning or in the period before and after a consultation with the dentist and that did not pose any risks to the gestational process. With this assistance initiative, pregnant women opened doors to help in other situations in which patients' understanding and active participation are necessary to solve their problems such as gingivitis or periodontitis and other situations.

What it does

O Litle dentist chatbot, helps people to understand their problem and thus be a collaborative element of the entire treatment process in odontology.

How I built it

I built it using the Framework in Django, GPT API in addition to using RAG and Guardrails technology so that it can respond in a scientific way and with the care of not prescribing medication, not making a diagnosis and encouragement when looking for a professional dentist in case of doubt.

What I learned

It is not something simple to build, I continue to learn a lot from people to help in this journey of promoting oral health.

What's next for AIODONTO

Democratize literacy in dentistry so that health institutions, governmental and non-governmental, Clinics and Dental Offices, can benefit their patients by moving them from being a passive person to being a Coltient person (treatment collaborator).
