We were inspired by the old instant messenger of the Internet called AOL and we wanted to replicate something similar using Java and Github.
What it does
AIM is a instant messenger which allows users to push messages to a Github repository and for another user to pull the messages and read them.
How we built it
AIM was built with Java
Challenges we ran into
We were challenged by the automation of the command line by using various libraries. Other challenges included incorporating the Github pulling and pushing.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we were able to utilize the libraries to create the text files and copy the messages into them while also pushing the file to the repository and pulling it.
What we learned
We learned to use the Java libraries to access the command line to create text files and write in them.
What's next for AIM
We plan on AIM to be able to allow more than two people communicating and create faster and more reliable messages.
