Disease Discoverer

  The user puts in symptoms and receives comments on potential diseases they may have ranked from most to least likely.

Inspiration!

With 55% of the American Population currently in medical debt and rising medical costs and inaccessibility to healthcare, I sought to create a program that helped individuals discover their sicknesses.

What it does and How I did it!

It uses Streamlit to create a colorful interactive UI and takes in these symptoms. Then using Beautiful Soup I took in values from almost 50 Wikipedia pages and used keywords to find out what disease it could potentially be.

Challenges I ran into

I struggled with beautiful soup and some of the difficulties with the exceptions.

Accomplishments that we're proud of and what Ilearned

I learned how to use crawlers and explore the internet with Python. Additionally, I learned how to create an interactive UI system

What's Next for Disease Discoverer...?

I would like to extend to more websites and possibly create charts and more interesting statistics.
