Inspiration

We as students found it very difficult to manage all the events happening in our college and surrounding ones. So to tackle this problem we came up with an idea where we a common platform for all organizers to host information about their events.

What it does

Our website serves as a common platform where organizers from various colleges can host events providing information and registration links for the event without the use of additional social media platforms to spread information about the event

How I built it

We built it using React as frontend, database as MongoDB and we made our REST API with Express and Node JS and we deployed it on heroku.

Challenges I ran into

Persistence of login and security of password was a task for us, but it was manageable. The design was also time consuming as we wanted to make it easy to understand and also have a good look. And finally implementing protecting routes

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We were able to deploy MERN stack application with a completely working frontend and backend which can be used for commercial purposes

What I learned

We learnt the working of MERN stack application by familiarizing with the basics of the above languages and frameworks

What's next for AiGHT Events

We plan to implement an inbuilt calendar to the app which will help users to sync the deadlines and upcoming events so that can be notified about them and we plan to scale the website by acquiring various new users from different colleges and universities.
