Inspiration
The COViD-19 Pandemic which started back in March, 2020 hasn't yet stopped in India, where the condition is deteriorating day by day. There are 300,000+ cases getting recorded everyday all over the country and hence the death toll is rising at a frightening pace. This is causing a massive shortage of available beds across the hospitals, a surge in COViD tests and a race to get the vaccine as soon as possible. On the other hand this also has taken a toll on all the healthcare workers, who are working day & night for the betterment of the people of India. They are overworked & tired by the end of the day; and hence cannot tend to every person that approaches them.
What it does
By choosing one of the five locators on our website, users can quickly search for the type of centers which they want as opposed to waste time searching for every care center and then figuring out if it has the facility they need or not. These locators are created using MapMyIndia's 'Covid searches Widget'. This will definitely speed up the search and will help to save valuable time of the patient as well as their relatives. By interacting with our Virtual Doctor through Augmented Reality; one can seek advice for common health problems such as fever & headache, as well as common mental health problems which will ease the burden off of the doctors' shoulders.
How we built it
We made website using JavaScript, html, CSS where MapMyIndia API is used and integrated with website to know about various kind of medical centers around us. Virtual doctor is made using unity where augmented reality is used to see 3D doctor right at your place.
Challenges we ran into
Firstly challenge was how to show user map and accordingly show places near that user but we got this API mentioned above and it started working.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that using our website user can easily find required centers nearby them with information of that medical center. As well as now using app of AR i.e- virtual doctor user can consult her(virtual doctor) from his/her own place/home.
What we learned
how to use APIs and integrate in websites and how to use unity software to build useful augmented reality apps
What's next for AID IN COViD
We will add voice input in augmented reality app so that user experiences will more better and in website will contain not just medical centers but other daily life necessary things so that both user and other service people can reach out to each other efficiently.
