Inspiration
We took inspiration from Abdullah Hammas abstract paintings and then used it in beautiful video of Al-Ula.
What it does
It gives a vision of a living artwork through the adventure of Al-Ula
How I built it
We used the ML method of Style-transfer to train a model based on two art pieces from the artist, Abdullah Hammas. And then, we used that model to apply Hammas’s abstract painting style onto the frames of a 10-seconds video taken in Al-Ula, which resulted in beautiful scenes drawn in the artists unique abstract style.
Challenges I ran into
- Short time to produce the artwork (long feedback loop)
- Deciding on what’s the most fitting artworks from the artist
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
- Being accepted and participating in the AI Artathon
- Succeeding in creating the final artwork
What I learned
- We dived deeper in AI’s methods and learned a lot of topics in small time
- How with work with group members of different backgrounds.
What's next for AI2030
- Improve the quality of the video to be more realistic and less fuzzy/abstract
- Make the artwork interactive, for example, let the audience choose the input picture through a website or twitter bot.
- Develop the final artwork to be more presentable
- Using different AI Methods to explore the same concept
