Inspiration
I got inspired to teach finance literacy to teenagers as I was passionate about the topic since I had the valuable opportunity to learn money skills and thought it was very important to teach this to others since these skills have helped me a lot everywhere. These skills are very important for success in life and school doesn't teach them so its best to learn these skills from a young age to best implement them rather than learning later which is late and difficult. I also have started a TechPrenuers Club with some friends where we explore the power of tech and its impact on the world which motivated me to do this project and build the site to solve the issue of lack of financial literary in this world from.
What it does
Teaches teenagers finical literacy in a duolingo gamified way that is interactive, fun, and very interesting to use. It allows users to learn in 3 different ways: Spending, Saving, and Investing and then finally there is a AI Bot that you can talk with like a Financial Coach that can simulate experiences, allow you to practice skills, and connect you with a genuine bot for all your help. Essentially teaching finance in a fun and visually appealing way.
How we built it
I initially learned about Bolt.new from a youtube shorts video and then used it to build the site, I ran out of tokens so then I used other AI Agents such as Cursor AI, Github Copilot, etc to build the site. When I finally built a basic prototype I tested it out to my friends and got valuable feedback. Using the feedback I made a brand new FinLit Project via bolt.new subscription that I am very proud of submitting. Unfortunately I was unaware of the builder pack so I had to struggle using other things.
Challenges we ran into
I have low coding experience and the limit of bolt tokens(I was unaware of the Bolt Builder Pack) forced me to build the site using other AI bots. It was very difficult when the AI would consume a lot of time and not do what was right as it often made mistakes. I got upset when I found out that I could have built everything much better with the builder back but I choose to not give up and do my best. I also had to get feedback which was pretty difficult when people would not fill out the feedback form.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Building full basic prototype in a week, getting 15 people to give feedback, learning a lot along the journey.
What we learned
Important leadership skills to handle people such as being nice to them and being firm for attending meetings, how to code basic projects, how to use Github, VS Code, etc.
What's next for Finlit AI
I hope that this project opens the route to getting feedback from professionals on how I can better my website and make it even better. Once I am satisfied with a good Frontend I will build and construct the rest of the backend and deploy the site on AWS with Google Adsense Ads for revenue.
I am also working on another project that will generate AI Websites using AI Software and allow for me and my club to build sites for free and the whole site will be managed by multiple thousand AI Bots that take care of different departments such as business, marketing, technical, etc. I will use this site to handle and manage the rest of the Finlit AI Project.
