Inspiration

For the last few years, I built five different startups on the side while working full-time. I could build fast, but every project failed for the same reason: no one saw what I built. I had a distribution problem, not a product problem.

To fix that, I started building my personal brand and sharing my projects. That was when I discovered how hard short-form video creation really is. Editing each video took hours, and if I skipped even a couple of days, my reach dropped instantly. Every founder and small brand I spoke to said the same thing. They had ideas and footage but no time to turn it into consistent content.

That insight sparked this project.

What it does

This AI video editor acts as a co-editor that helps brands create short-form videos consistently. Users upload their real footage or describe the idea, and the AI handles scripting, pacing, captions, voice, lip-sync, and B-roll. Most importantly, it keeps the brand’s storytelling and tone consistent across multiple videos, which is what actually drives reach and engagement.

How we built it

I used my four years of AI experience at NVIDIA to build a working prototype in two months. It includes:

A pipeline to analyze real footage for key moments

AI-generated scripts and captions

Automated voice and lip-sync

Story pacing and B-roll matching

Instant feedback loops for quick iteration

I used the tool myself every day while building my personal brand, which helped refine the product directly through real usage.

Challenges we ran into

  1. Understanding what truly makes short-form content work

Short-form editing is not about cuts. It is about attention, pacing, and emotional rhythm. I had to relearn editing from a storytelling perspective, not a technical one.

  1. Finding the right product direction

Early versions attempted full video automation. Users said it felt inauthentic, and AI talking head videos performed poorly. We learned the product should enhance real footage, not replace the human.

  1. Staying consistent while building

I was building the product and using it to grow my own brand at the same time. This forced me to live the exact pain customers face.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Received strong feedback from founders and brands saying the tool solves their biggest bottleneck: staying consistent

Identified a core insight that most editing tools miss, which is that consistency, not speed, drives reach

What we learned

The real bottleneck is not editing. It is staying consistent enough to maintain reach

Brands care about cohesive storytelling across posts, not just one good video

AI-generated talking head videos underperform unless highly expressive

Real footage with AI-enhanced storytelling is the winning format

Rhythm, emotion, and pacing matter more than technical editing steps

Using the tool personally was the fastest way to iterate and understand user needs deeply

What's next for AI Video Editor

Next, we are building a viral format network where top-performing Reels can be turned into programmable templates. Brands can plug in their footage and instantly apply trending pacing and effects while keeping their own voice. The original creator earns each time their format is used.

The goal is to make consistent short-form creation effortless for every brand and help them stay visible in a world where attention moves fast.
