AI Travel Planner by Planify

Inspiration

I love traveling, and before a travel, I always do a research to plan my trip and visit the most iconic places. This requires me to invest a lot of time, looking at different blogs, videos etc... to then organize my self by days, by proximity of places so I can maximize my time there. So with the help of AI, I decided to create this process in just a minute, so I can create the perfect itinerary with AI.

I built this app last year but a built it in React Native, and it didn't work. So I wanted to create this app but version 2.0, with new UI, new tech, and new name but with the same idea. And that how Planify was born.

What it does

Basically what the app does is ask you for a city and number of days that you will stay and the app will create you the perfect itinerary by day and hour. So you don't have to think and just visit the most amazing places in that city.

This is just an MVP, my plan is to add more customization, so the user can create their dream trip. Because of the time, I'm just asking for a city and number of days, but in the future I will ask for interest, how many people are in the trip, budget and more.

How we built it

I used SwiftUI and Cloudfare workers to call the OpenAI API.

Challenges we ran into

Creating the Cloudfare workers, as I'm not an expert in that, I run into some problems with the configuration. Apart from that, it was a smooth process.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Finish the app in 2 days while build it in public.

What we learned

I learned about how Cloudfare workers works, and how easy is to set up a server without the need to develop it yourself.

What's next for AI Travel Planner by Planify

More customization, also my plan is to add referral links to reserve tours, and much more.
