Inspiration
The inspiration for AI Threads: Custom 3D TeeForge stemmed from the intersection of AI technology and fashion customization. We envisioned a platform that would empower users to design their own 3D t-shirts effortlessly, leveraging the capabilities of AI-generated imagery (such as DALL-E), React for seamless user interaction, ThreeJS for immersive 3D graphics, and Framer Motion for fluid animations. This project aimed to revolutionize the way people engage with fashion design online.
What it does
AI Threads: Custom 3D TeeForge allows users to create personalized 3D t-shirt designs using AI-powered customization tools. Users can choose from a variety of pre-made templates or start from scratch, utilizing the intuitive interface to tweak colors, patterns, and designs. The platform integrates OpenAI's DALL-E API to generate unique designs based on user input, providing endless possibilities for customization.
How we built it
We built AI Threads: Custom 3D TeeForge using a combination of cutting-edge technologies. The frontend was developed using React for its flexibility and component-based architecture. ThreeJS was employed to render high-quality 3D graphics, while Framer Motion enhanced the user experience with fluid animations. TailwindCSS was utilized for styling, ensuring a modern and responsive design. The backend was set up on GitLab, facilitating collaboration and version control among team members.
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges we faced was integrating the AI-powered customization tool seamlessly into the platform. Working with the DALL-E API required careful consideration of data formatting and handling to ensure smooth interactions and accurate outputs.
