Inspiration

The era of writing manual, rigid test scripts is over. I was inspired to move Quality Engineering away from fragile, maintenance-heavy automation frameworks and replace them with a dynamic, AI-driven Agentic workflow. The goal was to build a "Cognitive QA" paradigm—an intelligent decision engine capable of autonomously designing and generating enterprise test suites without the constant need for human intervention or manual script writing.

How I built it

I architected a hybrid-cloud "Edge-to-Cloud Agentic Control Mesh." The core cognitive engine was built using Python 3.12 and FastAPI, wrapping the Gemini API for heavy LLM inferencing.

Instead of running expensive, persistent models in the cloud, I deployed the inference and ChromaDB (Vector DB) on local edge-compute. This edge backend is securely tunneled via ngrok (OAuth2/JWT secured) to a production Vercel cloud frontend. I also utilized Neon (Serverless Postgres) for relational data management.

Challenges I ran into

The biggest challenge was system fragility. Traditional GenAI infrastructures often fail silently when network sockets drop or API rate limits are hit.

To solve this, I engineered the "Sentinel" algorithm—a self-healing telemetry heartbeat monitor integrated into the FastAPI backend. If Sentinel detects an anomaly (like a 500 Internal Server Error or a disconnected websocket), it dynamically intercepts the traceback, adjusts the routing, and keeps the AI agent alive without human intervention.

What I learned

I learned that true enterprise AI isn't just about prompt engineering; it is about highly resilient architecture. By keeping heavy computation on the edge and building self-healing tunneling protocols, I proved it is possible to achieve enterprise-grade AI test generation with near-zero cloud hosting costs.
