Inspiration

We aimed to create a platform that allows people to enhance their AI skills, no matter their industry background. By offering personalized lesson plans through GenAI and an interactive AI avatar, we make learning AI both engaging and accessible. NASA’s data, particularly on unemployment and GDP rates, played a key role in helping us refine our approach.

What it does

AIAlly generates personalized AI-driven lesson plans tailored to specific industries, aligned with the user’s background and experience. The lessons are interactive and taught by an AI avatar, making the learning process engaging and customized to each learner's pace and expertise.

How we built it

We leveraged generative AI to create custom lesson plans and used SoftrAI for app development, integrating various tools to bring everything together. Additionally, we utilized Airflow.ai to build the AI avatar that acts as a virtual instructor, delivering lessons to users in an interactive format.

Challenges we ran into

We faced challenges in seamlessly integrating the different technologies, especially when gathering user feedback and tailoring lesson plans based on both industry-specific requirements and learning pace. Creating the AI avatar and ensuring it provided an engaging and effective learning experience also presented obstacles.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully generated AI-powered, industry-specific lesson plans and created an AI avatar that enhances the learning experience by making it interactive and engaging. This end-to-end solution delivers a customized and dynamic learning journey for users.

What we learned

We explored the open data landscape, sifting through various datasets, including those on NASA’s Open Data Portal and the IMF’s databases. We also gained a deeper understanding of the growing ecosystem of AI tools, allowing us to build the app from scratch and successfully deliver a live demo. Additionally, working with AI avatars has provided us with valuable insights into their capabilities and potential.

What's next for AIAlly

We aim to expand our offering by creating AI avatars tailored to different industries, such as healthcare, with even more personalized lesson plans. We also plan to introduce gamified elements, where users can compete with peers, earn points, and track their progress on their AI learning journey, fostering a more immersive and motivating experience.
