Inspiration

It took me long enough to read boring articles about politics and sociology, the subjects I am not even that interested in by the way. So to create a solution for this I created this fast paced article summarizer.

What it does

It takes in URLs and does some magic(uses OpenAI) to give out a great summary of major points in the article without extrapolating certain points like that random uncle in our families.

How we built it

We built it by integrating OpenAI GPT-4 into our website using it's API through which we were able to open and convert long and boring articles content into good essays to read as your bedtime story.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge for me was to not sleep and build it overnight. Jokes aside actually I had to create it by integrating API with the frontend of my project, something I have never done before. So doing it was a bit challenging but at the same time really fun.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I was able to convert an entire james bond article to small bit summary during an interview to show my project off. It was fun considering how much I want the franchise to revive.

What we learned

I learned API integration and about APIs and also a lot about TailwindCSS and Redux and their applicability along with ReactJs.

What's next for AI summarizer

It is a hosted website and I would keep improving it with time with minor changes to major changes both. Maybe if GPT-5 becomes available, I would change the GPT-4 to GPT-5 because why not?
