Inspiration
As students, we often need to switch between different websites and platforms to find study materials, watch educational videos, practice coding, and prepare for exams. This can make learning time-consuming and unorganized.
This inspired me to build AI StudyMate, an AI-powered learning platform that brings different learning resources together in one place and aims to make education smarter, simpler, and more accessible.
What It Does
AI StudyMate provides students with a centralized platform to manage their learning activities.
Key features include:
- User Authentication: Students can register and log in to access the platform.
- Course Management: Students can access their registered courses.
- AI Tutor: Get assistance with understanding difficult concepts.
- Study Resources: Discover notes, PDFs, and other educational materials.
- YouTube Learning: Find educational videos related to a selected subject.
- Coding Practice: Strengthen programming and problem-solving skills.
- Quizzes: Test knowledge and review learned concepts.
- Learning Roadmap: Follow a structured learning journey.
Our goal is to help students spend less time searching for resources and more time learning.
How We Built It
AI StudyMate was developed using modern web technologies.
- Frontend: React, TypeScript, and Vite
- Backend: Python and FastAPI
- Database and Authentication: Supabase
- Deployment: Cloudflare and backend hosting
The frontend provides the user interface, while the backend handles server-side functionality. Supabase supports database and authentication requirements, and Cloudflare is used to deploy the web application.
Challenges We Faced
One of the main challenges was bringing multiple learning features together in a single application while maintaining a consistent and user-friendly interface.
Connecting the frontend and backend, configuring authentication, managing application data, and deploying the project also required careful testing and troubleshooting.
Working through these challenges helped us better understand full-stack development, API integration, and deployment.
What We Learned
Building AI StudyMate helped us improve our understanding of React, TypeScript, Python, FastAPI, Supabase, and web deployment.
We also learned the importance of designing applications around real user needs, organizing features effectively, and testing different parts of a system before deployment.
What's Next
In the future, we aim to improve AI-powered personalized tutoring, introduce more adaptive learning features, expand coding practice and assessments, and provide better insights into students' learning progress.
Our long-term vision is to make AI StudyMate a helpful learning companion that supports students throughout their educational journey.
Conclusion
AI StudyMate represents our vision of combining artificial intelligence and modern web technologies to create a more organized and personalized learning experience.
We built this project for the Multimodal AI Hackathon 2026, with the goal of exploring how technology can help students learn more effectively.
