AI Study Planner

As third-semester students in Pakistan, we know how quickly university life can become overwhelming. Between lectures, quizzes, assignments, and exams, it is easy to lose track of what needs to be done and when. We wanted to explore a simple question: could an AI study planner help students make their workload feel a little more manageable?

What inspired us

The idea came from our own experience. We were trying to keep up with university work while also taking part in a hackathon, and we understood how difficult it can be to balance learning with deadlines. We decided to build a project around a problem we could relate to ourselves: planning study time more effectively.

How we built it

There are three of us on the team, and we started with a foundation in programming fundamentals, object-oriented programming, and basic website development. Building the planner meant going beyond what we already knew and figuring out how the different parts of a web project fit together. We worked on developing our web development skills, especially JavaScript, while turning our idea into a working project.

Challenges we faced

One of our biggest challenges was managing the project alongside our regular university workload. Quizzes, assignments, and exam preparation were still part of our daily routine, so finding time to learn new concepts and apply them was not always easy. We also had to work through unfamiliar parts of web development instead of relying only on the concepts we had already studied.

What we learned

This project gave us practical experience with web development and helped us understand how programming concepts can be used to build something beyond classroom exercises. We learned by trying things, solving problems, and improving our understanding as we went. Just as importantly, the experience taught us to manage our time, work as a team, and keep moving forward even when we were learning something new.most importantly it taught us team management and collaboration that would of course help us a lot in our professional lives.

AI Study Planner is our attempt to build something useful from a challenge we experience ourselves. For us, Forge Hacks has been an opportunity to turn an everyday student problem into a project and learn a great deal along the way.
