Inspiration
Many students struggle to understand difficult topics when studying alone and often do not have immediate access to a teacher or tutor. Searching for answers across multiple websites can be time-consuming and confusing. The idea behind AI Study Partner was to create a smart assistant that can act like a personal tutor available 24/7. The goal was to make learning easier, faster, and more interactive by allowing students to ask questions and receive instant explanations.
What it does
AI Study Partner is an AI-powered learning assistant that helps students understand concepts, ask questions, and practice topics. Students can type questions and receive clear explanations generated by AI. The platform can also summarize study notes, generate quizzes for practice, and help students revise important topics. It acts like a digital tutor that supports students anytime during their learning process.
How I built it
The project was built using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the frontend to create a simple and user-friendly interface. The backend was developed using Python with Flask to process user requests and communicate with the AI model. AI responses were generated using an AI API such as Gemini or OpenRouter. Libraries like NLTK were used for text processing, and Firebase or a simple database was used to store study history and quiz data.
Challenges I ran into
One of the main challenges was integrating the AI API and managing responses effectively. Another challenge was processing user questions and ensuring the answers were clear and helpful. Building a smooth interaction between the frontend and backend also required debugging and testing.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I am proud that I was able to build a working AI-powered study assistant that can answer questions and help students learn. Creating an interactive learning tool that solves a real problem for students was a great achievement.
What I learned
Through this project, I learned how to integrate AI APIs into applications, handle user input in Python, and connect frontend interfaces with backend services. I also improved my understanding of NLP and how AI can be used in educational tools.
