💡 Inspiration
Students often struggle to understand difficult topics and find quick, easy-to-understand explanations. Searching through multiple websites for answers can be time-consuming and make learning more complicated.
This inspired me to build AI Study Buddy, an AI-powered study assistant that helps students ask questions and get AI-generated answers in one place. My goal was to make learning simpler, faster, and more accessible for everyone.
🚀 What It Does
AI Study Buddy allows users to enter their questions and receive answers generated by Google's Gemini AI. It provides a simple, user-friendly interface where students can ask questions, clarify doubts, and explore different topics.
The project focuses on making AI-powered learning accessible through a web browser without requiring users to install a separate application.
🛠️ How I Built It
I built AI Study Buddy using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, and Express.js. I integrated Google's Gemini API to generate answers to users' questions.
The frontend collects the user's question and sends it to the backend. The backend communicates with the Gemini API and returns the generated response to the website. I used GitHub for version control and Render to deploy the application.
🧩 Challenges I Faced
One of my biggest challenges was integrating the Gemini API and getting everything to work correctly. I also faced deployment errors when moving the application from my local computer to Render.
I had to troubleshoot dependency issues, update the project configuration, and redeploy the application. These challenges taught me the importance of reading error logs, debugging carefully, and testing an application after deployment.
📚 What I Learned
While building this project, I learned how to integrate a generative AI API into a web application, connect a frontend with a backend, manage dependencies, use GitHub for version control, and deploy a working application.
I also learned how important patience and problem-solving are when developing software. Turning my idea into a working AI-powered application gave me valuable practical experience.
🔮 What's Next
In the future, I would like to add more learning features, such as AI-generated quizzes, multiple-choice questions, study-note summarization, saved questions, and support for multiple languages.
My vision is to develop AI Study Buddy into a more complete learning companion that helps students understand concepts and study more effectively.

AI Study Buddy is my attempt to use artificial intelligence to solve a real problem faced by students. Building this project helped me transform an idea into a working web application and gain hands-on experience with AI integration and deployment.
I hope to continue improving the project and make learning easier and more accessible for students everywhere.
