AI study assistant

Inspiration

Many students struggle to find clear and reliable explanations while studying. They often spend a lot of time searching through different websites and videos before finding the information they need. We wanted to create an AI-powered study assistant that provides instant, easy-to-understand answers in one place, making learning faster, simpler, and more engaging.

What it does

AI Study Assistant is a web application that helps students learn using artificial intelligence. Users can ask academic questions in natural language and receive accurate, detailed, and easy-to-understand explanations instantly. The application provides a clean and user-friendly interface, allowing students to focus on learning instead of searching across multiple sources.

How we built it

I used python for backend ,Gemini API for AI ,Streamlit for UI and json for data base

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was integrating the Gemini API and resolving compatibility issues with different model versions. We also focused on designing a responsive interface, handling user input correctly, and ensuring that AI responses were generated quickly and reliably.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully built a fully functional AI-powered study assistant. Integrated Google Gemini AI to generate real-time educational responses. Created a clean and easy-to-use interface. Delivered a complete end-to-end web application within the hackathon timeframe. Built a solution that has the potential to make learning more accessible and interactive.

What we learned

I learned how to use API , how to give appropriate prompt , how to sue streamlit for UI,and how to connect data base to ai and website etc.

What's next for AI study assistant

Our future plans include adding PDF and document analysis, quiz generation, personalized learning recommendations, voice interaction, multilingual support, progress tracking, and user accounts. We also plan to improve response quality, add study history, and eventually deploy the application so students can access it from anywhere.
