Inspiration

We’ve all been there—overwhelmed by endless PDFs, struggling to keep up with lectures, and wishing we had a magic wand to make studying easier. That’s when it hit us: what if we could actually build something to make learning less stressful and more efficient? With a shared passion for education and technology, we decided to create an AI-powered companion that could transform the way students interact with study materials

What it does

AI Study Assistant is like having a tireless, super-smart friend who helps you study. Upload your PDFs or notes, and it will:

How we built it

We built this project using the Next.js framework for a smooth, responsive frontend, with Tailwind CSS to keep things clean and beautiful. The magic happens with OpenAI’s GPT API, which powers the summarization and Q&A features.

Challenges we ran into

Bringing AI into a real-time web application wasn’t without hiccups:

Managing large PDF files and keeping the app responsive was tricky.

Maintaining contextual accuracy during chats required fine-tuning the chunking logic.
