DreamWeaver is like Canva meets Pixar for bedtime stories. It’s an AI platform that lets parents instantly create personalized, custom-illustrated bedtime tales that make bedtime the most magical.

Inspiration

DreamWeaver was inspired by my 3-year-old daughter. After she needed an operation, I desperately wanted a way to comfort her and explain what was happening in a gentle way that a toddler could understand. That experience made me realize that personalized AI storytelling could turn any real-world moments into magical, comforting experiences for young children. What started as a way to comfort my own daughter made me realize that parents face similar emotional challenges—whether it's hospital visits, moving to a new home, or starting school—where personalized stories can offer instant comfort.

What it does

DreamWeaver makes it easy for parents to explain tricky things to young kids—like hospital visits, moving houses, or starting school—and teach them everyday values like kindness, courage, and sharing. It instantly creates custom, illustrated bedtime stories starring the child, turning big life lessons and scary moments into gentle, reassuring tales before sleep.

How we built it

I built the entire app inside Google AI Studio. I created a React interface, set up a Node backend. When I lost - since I am not a programmer - i had some help from Youtube and took the Google Ai Professional course on Coursera.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge for me was finding the time. I had to balance my regular full-time job, take care of my 3-year-old daughter, and finish this project on time. To make things even harder, our second daughter was born just three weeks before the submission deadline! Coding this app late at night between helping with the newborn was really exhausting. But maybe it will be as joyful for others as for us.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully transforming a tool created during a hospital stay with my daughter into a published web application for other families - or atleast on track to do so: it is published, but I have not yet gave access to anyone. I do tend to aim for perfection, but this time i said to myself that i will focus on delivering - this submission is a huge step for me :)

What we learned

Building this app taught me so much about vibe coding: learning how to work together with AI models to create a full web application in record time. Discovering what Google AI Studio can do was a huge eye-opener for me. I fell in love with creating software this way, and honestly, there were many moments I wished this was my real 9-to-5 day job!

What's next for Dreamweaver - AI Bedtime Story Generator

Test it, finalize it, and make it available for everyone: first in US, than in my home country Hungary.

I have learned so much these day about vibe coding. AI Studio is such a wonderful tool and based on the amount of tutorials in youtube it seems to me quite underrated as well. Clearly it is not for seasoned coders, but for more starters. I hope it is something my daughter will learn about in the primary school.

It's amazing how versatile AI Studio is. I thought initially that after the first mockup I would have to move to Antigravity. But so far, I can tackle every issue very fast. Even for design modifications: I tried Stitch, but AI Studio felt simpler due to the export-import bottleneck. I wonder if maybe I will do everything in AI Studio.

I am already a few hours into creating the app. I am so glad that I started. Doing basic programming during my studies was really fun; it felt creative back then. But this is really something else... It is just so fast and iterative. I cannot wait to show the results to my daughter.
