Inspiration
My biggest inspiration for this project was my dad and grandpa, both of them are prominent stock traders and I decided to make this tool make their job easier.
What it does
It uses ai to track the stocks that you have on your Wishlist and when they pass a certain threshold it will email you about it so you can decide to take action. It also has ai insight into all the stocks if you click on them. You can also add your own portfolio if you have invested through say E Trade already, and it can track your investments. You can also setup your own notifications if a stock drops to a certain price point along with a list of stocks you are interested in.
How we built it
I used the bolt ai to help build it along with implementing some features from ElevenLabs for speech to text along with the ai chat bot. I didn't do much coding besides a few tweaks to the displayed words and api's
Challenges we ran into
The login was the biggest challenge it kept redirecting back to the login page after you would login. It also would not save your account when you created an account. Another challenge was the speech to text search, i spent a big portion of my time trying to fix it until i realized my mic was not connected and that's why it was not working.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm just proud I was able to do this in the time limit without teammates.
What we learned
I learned just how useful ai is for coding, mostly I just used it for debugging but its really useful for making websites. I also learned quite a bit about stocks in the process of making it and how traders can predict where it will go.
What's next for Ai Stock Tracker
I'm most likely going to improve on the design and make it even better along with adding even more features. Also I'm going to improve upon the graphs, they could be a lot better. I'm using a free tier of a stock tracker api to import the stock data so its not the most accurate. Then maybe launch it as my own website.
