Inspiration

Over-speeding causes many road accidents, and manual speed monitoring is inefficient. This motivated us to build an AI-based system for automatic speed violation detection.

What it does

It uses AI and computer vision to monitor vehicle speed in real time and detect speed limit violations automatically.

How we built it

We used traffic camera footage, AI models for vehicle detection and tracking, and speed calculation algorithms.

Challenges we ran into

Poor video quality, changing lighting conditions, and accurate speed measurement were major challenges.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We built a working automated system that detects speed violations without human involvement.

What we learned

We learned practical applications of AI and computer vision in real-world traffic management.

What's next for AI speed limit violation detection

We plan to improve accuracy, add real-time alerts, and integrate with smart city traffic systems.
