InspiratRoad hazards cause thousands of accidents every year, many of which could have been prevented if drivers or authorities were alerted earlier.

What it does The idea behind our project is simple but impactful, which is using artificial intelligence and computer vision to detect road hazards such as potholes, flooding, or fallen trees from dashcam footage.

How we built it

Our solution leverages dashcams and smartphones, devices that drivers already use, to detect hazards automatically, using python modules YOLO from ultralytics , the AI decides if an object within the video or image processed is counted as a hazard that disrupts traffic is by filtering out sections of the video and image into different parts

Challenges we ran into

The accuracy of the AI is not as accurate due to lack of data, so there are situations where it still malfunctions

We managed to build a working base system, which has a huge potential to be work and improved on
